Launching a Decolonising Project with the Museum of Cambridge

As the Community Officer at the Museum of Cambridge, I have the opportunity to put together my creativity, interest in structural inequality, and team management skills, to launch ground-shaking projects. Last month, I kick-started the Decolonising Project at MoC, which aims to revise and reinterpret some of our displays, which are linked to Britain’s colonial past.

I am excited to start exploring what has often been described as an uncomfortable topic, and work closely with museum professionals, volunteers, and the Cambridge community to offer a more inclusive, accurate, and engaging experience of our collection.
