Rabbit Hole: who can you trust?

During January and February 2021, I had the incredible chance to work with theatre maker Julia Vita, in her digital theatre piece ‘Rabbit Hole’. This participatory piece explores our thoughts and reactions around conspiracy theories of all sorts, and asks us whether is it possible to trust anyone, including yourself.

Zoom rehearsals, and performing from my very own room have been two of the things that I didn’t think I would ever be doing when making theatre! But as artists we have to be resilient, and find new alternatives to continue creating. I am proud of how as a team of 4 performers we were able to overcome these difficulties and adapt to a new medium (some of these difficulties being sometimes bad broadband!)

Let me tell you bit more about the show, through Julia’s words:

Thanks to technology, we now have all the knowledge we could ever need at our fingertips. And yet, sometimes it seems like nothing can be trusted. What is it that makes us believe one information source over another? Are people just too gullible, or are there really darker forces at play behind closed doors? Come take a journey down rabbit hole of conspiracy theory. It might be silly or it might be sinister, but the truth is always just behind the next curtain.
